christmas half wall tree
DIY people...or people who know about woodwork?
This christmas I want to put my christmas tree beind a woden fence...a real one about a foot or a foot and a half high...it is to keep my baby from getting to it and also to make an indoor "Winter scene" how can I secure the fencing? I have the tree in a corner so envisioned asort or half semi circle of fencing from wall to wall..how do I secure it best? Help?
Take planed up timber, (from your hardware store) say 4cm x 5cm by about 30cm long cut notches about half way along,and about half way through so that the bottom rail of your fence fits snugly into the notch. This means that the "foot" is at (about) 90 degrees to the fence. As further refinement you could cut the top corners of the foot off so the baby doesn't hurt him/herself on the corner.
Sandpaper it and it may look ok.
