Battlefield Vietnam not installing correctly?
My uncle recently got me and my brother Battlefield Anthology for Christmas.But for some reason neither Battlefield 1942,Battlefield Road To Rome,Battlefield Secret Weapons of WWII,and Battlefield Vietnam wont work.As for the first three,they install correctly but when I run them the screen flashes black for a second but then nothing happens,the computer doesnt even say its working.As for Battefield Vietnam,it installs correctly,but at the very end of installation it flashes a message saying: "Could not load initialization file". After that everythings fine but when I load it up,it starts up but then it says the traditional error message: "bfvietnam.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close,sorry for the inconvenience,please tell Microsoft about this problem"
I know theres patches out there but I dont know what any of them do or if you need them for older versions of the games like the one I got.What do I do?
You can get the patches from here, http://largedownloads.ea.com/pub/patches/ but I don't think they will fix the problem.
Try this site which will tell you if your computer is good enough to run the games: http://systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest
If it can, then you either need to update drivers, graphics, audio and chipset being the main ones, update windows, or if you are using Vista run in compatability mode and as administrator.
The patches you need for 1942 are 1.6 (1.6.19) and 1.6-1.61b incremental.
The patches for Vietnam are bfv 1_2 and 1.2 to 1.21 incremental.
Although I have no idea what the anthology version is patched to already.
